St. Mary's Church Westow - Grave Inscriptions

We have documented the details of people commemorated at St.Mary's church. This information has been obtained from an earlier survey commissioned by the parish and our own survey. We have done our best to reconcile differences between the two. Unfortunately many of the stones are eroded and other are damaged or have been moved for safety.

It is likely that many residents would not have had a stone memorial although they are recorded as being buried by the Parish Register.

To assist in locating graves we have divided the burial ground into zones (see map below) and the detailed list gives the graves more or less as they are positioned within each zone. However we have not identified each individual grave on the plan.

The information is held on an Excel spreadsheet with an alphabetical list ordered by surname and detailed lists in grave number order

The latter indicates where there is a relevant Parish Register entry (an * means that there is some difference in the information between the two). Entries in red are one that we are still investigating to confirm details.
